Jackets.

Sleeves, waist, length. The easy jobs and the hard one. Bring the jacket in and we will tell you which is which.

Walk-ins welcome. 3801 Kirby Dr, Upper Kirby. Doing this since 1998.

01What we do

The easy part and the hard part.

The sleeves and the waist are the easy part. Length within reason. A jacket that hangs off you can usually be brought in to something that looks made for you, and you will feel the difference the first time you put it on.

Shoulders are the hard one, and anyone who tells you otherwise is about to ruin your jacket. A jacket is built outward from the shoulder, so moving it means opening the jacket up. Sometimes that is worth doing. Sometimes it is not, and we will tell you before we take your money, not after.

02What it costs

Bring it in. We will tell you.

It depends on the garment and what it needs, and we would rather look at it than guess at it over the phone.

We will tell you what it needs, what it will cost, and when it will be ready. If it is not worth doing, we will tell you that too, and we will not charge you for the opinion.

Not the right page?

Everything wearable comes over the same bench. Pick the garment, or just bring it in and let us look at it.

06Questions

Questions people ask.

Can a jacket's shoulders be altered?
Yes, but it is the hardest alteration there is, because the jacket is built outward from the shoulder. Sometimes it is worth doing and sometimes it is not. We will tell you which before we start.
Can a suit jacket be taken in?
Usually, yes. The waist and sides can be brought in so the jacket follows your shape. How much depends on the cloth left in the seams. Bring it in and we will show you what is possible.
Can jacket sleeves be shortened?
Yes. Sleeves can be shortened from the cuff, and on many jackets from the shoulder if there are working buttonholes. We will pick the right method for your jacket.
